Actress Amber Heard has been granted a temporary domestic violence restraining order against her husband, the actor Johnny Depp. The order will stand until another hearing is held in court June 17. Heard filed for divorce from Depp on Monday, May 21, and appeared in court the following Friday to ask for the restraining order, according to Variety. Heard showed up in court with a bruise on her face.

The actors are in the process of divorcing after a 15-month marriage.

An initial report on the restraining order from TMZ says that Heard and lawyer Samantha Spector submitted the request with multiple photos of injuries Heard says she suffered at Depp’s hands. TMZ also says Heard submitted a video of one of the alleged incidents of abuse.
People magazine reports that a source told it this bruise was only the most recent incident.
The restraining order will legally prevent Depp from being within 100 yards of Heard until the June 17 hearing. Depp, who has been out of the country since Wednesday promoting his latest film, Alice Through the Looking Glass, was represented in court by his lawyer, Laura Wasser.
Heard, 30, and Depp, 52, were married for just 15 months, though they met in 2009 while making the film The Rum Diary. The two were already in the news before Heard filed for divorce, due to a dispute with the Australian government over trying to bring their dogs into the country before a quarantine period had expired.
When asked why the marriage was ending, a source connected to Heard told People before the request for a restraining order was even filed: “Amber did what she had to do to take care of herself.”
A representative for Depp told People magazine: “Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life.”
Depp’s camp disputes the domestic violence claims to TMZ, saying that Heard’s Instagram account contradicts her report that the photo of her bruise was taken last Saturday.
