It’s eerie and uncomfortable, and you never really quite know what’s going on. And it feels exactly like that, and then some, in a 3-D rendering from artist Claire Hentschker.
A student at Carnegie Mellon, Hentschker digitally stitched together a 30-minute interactive walkthrough of the hotel from the film’s footage, set to an edited and stretched version of the movie’s soundtrack.
Parts of the hotel are warped and bent because of the stitching process, which frankly makes the whole thing even creepier and more jarring.
