Spaces, the virtual-reality startup led by two key former DreamWorks Animation employees, has landed a $30 million deal with a Chinese theme park operator.

Shiraz Akmal and Brad Herman announced earlier this year they were setting up Spaces, a virtual-reality studio.


The joint venture will bring mixed- and virtual-reality attractions to the amusement parks run by Songcheng Performance Development Co. Spaces CEO Shiraz Akmal said the joint venture will add the new technologies “into existing shows and rides in ways that have never been possible, with thousands of people able to experience VR simultaneously.”
Last month, Spaces announced that it had raised $3 million in funding from a range of investors.
