Elizabeth Warren’s epic 2015 political rant foreshadowed this year’s populist anger

Senator Elizabeth Warren isn’t shy about taking on big, powerful players — whether it’s giant tech companies like Google, Apple and Amazon, or the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump.

In an appearance at last year’s Code Conference, Warren had a different target in her sights: Do-nothing Washington politicians who are in the pockets of the rich and powerful.

“The only way we get change is when enough people in this country say, ‘I’m mad as hell. I’m fed up, and I’m not going to do this anymore,’” said Warren in a rant that taps into the populist anger that has come to define the 2016 elections.
