Watch: Spice Girls’ iconic “Wannabe” transformed into an epic 2016 feminist anthem

Twenty years after the Spice Girls debuted their hit song “Wannabe” in Europe, a new generation of young feminists are repurposing the iconic girl power anthem to say exactly what they “really, really want” for girls and women in 2016.

The video, produced by MJ Delaney for Project Everyone’s #WhatIReallyReallyWant campaign, features women performers from India, Nigeria, and the United Kingdom lip-syncing and dancing to point out ways to improve the lives of women and girls around the world: equal access to quality education, equal pay, and ending child marriages and violence against women.

The campaign is part of an effort to hold world leaders at the United Nations to their word: One component of the sustainable development goals signed in September 2015 was to prioritize the needs of women and girls in order to tackle bigger issues like climate change and poverty.

The organization hopes to gather responses to the video and bring them to the UN General Assembly in September. But at the very least, former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham has lent her support.

“I think this film is a wonderful idea,” Beckham said in a statement to Time. “How fabulous is it that after 20 years, the legacy of the Spice Girls’ — ‘Girl Power’ — is being used to encourage and empower a whole new generation.”
