The 68th annual Emmys are over.

Some of our predictions came true, but many did not. Surprises abounded — some good, some less so. As expected, Veep, Game of Thrones, and The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story were the big winners of the night in the show categories.

But the acting categories were full of unexpected victories, including Orphan Black’s Tatiana Maslany for Lead Actress in a Drama, Saturday Night Live’s Kate McKinnon for Supporting Actress in a Comedy, Baskets’ Louie Anderson for Supporting Actor in a Comedy, and The People v. O.J. Simpson’s Sterling K. Brown for Supporting Actor in a Limited Series. Many of these surprise wins were well deserved, and they added some excitement to a ceremony that has been far too predictable for far too long.
