Uber and SoftBank have struck a long-anticipated deal in which the Japanese conglomerate will buy up to $10 billion of the ride-hailing giant. The agreement was in place over the weekend, just awaiting the signature of a “peace deal” to end the acrimony between former CEO and Uber co-founder Travis Kalanick and its early and major investor, Benchmark.
