That’s Okta, which Todd McKinnon helped found in 2009 and took public this year in one of the market’s smoother public offerings. The enterprise services company is now worth over $2.5 billion and it’s business is growing.
Bucking another trend in Silicon Valley, McKinnon and the rest of the leadership team at Okta are teaching their employees by example how tech workers can be good citizens. When asked about which execs give back the most to charitable causes, Tipping Point Community CEO Daniel Lurie was quick to give McKinnon a shout-out, and he credits them with building volunteering into the corporate culture from day one.
