Kara Swisher is hosting a live podcast taping with ‘Veep’ cast members at SXSW

Swisher will be inducted into the SXSW Hall of Fame and will feature at a number of live events in Austin.

Kara Swisher.
Kara Swisher.

Don’t tell Kara Swisher, but she’s kind of becoming a big deal.

Latest evidence: This year she’s getting her own slot in the SXSW Hall of Fame.

We really don’t need to tell you why the folks at South by Southwest would want to include Swisher in their hall. But just in case: The SXSW Interactive Hall of Fame “recognizes pioneers within the interactive community whose career achievements have charted the course for the future of the digital industry. Swisher’s career sits at the nexus of what’s most important to SXSW Interactive: Innovation and inspiration in the tech industry, and — perhaps more importantly than ever — uncompromisingly honest journalism.”

Swisher is Recode’s executive editor and co-founder, the host of the Recode Decode podcast, and co-executive producer of the Code conference series. She’s the sixth honoree to join the SXSW hall, and she’s a fabulous boss. Hi Kara!

If you’re a SXSW badge holder, you can attend the 20th annual Interactive Innovation Awards ceremony on Tuesday, March 14, at the Hilton Austin Downtown.

And if you want to see Swisher at her best (and honestly, you would be crazy not to) you can find her onstage at various Recode events around Austin during SXSW.

Saturday, March 11, at 12:30 pm, Swisher and The Verge’s Lauren Goode will interview Mary Lou Jepsen for Recode’s Too Embarrassed to Ask podcast. Jepsen is one of the most interesting people in tech, and her jam-packed resume includes One Laptop Per Child — which she co-founded — Facebook and Google. Now she’s working on OpenWater, an ambitious 3-D imaging startup. The event will be held at the Nat Geo Further Base Camp in downtown Austin — also known as the Vulcan Gas Company on 6th Street. No SXSW badges needed for this one.

Monday, March 13, at 12 pm, Swisher will host a live edition of her Recode Decode podcast, interviewing Tim Simons, Matt Walsh and show-runner David Mandel from HBO’s ‘Veep.’ This one’s at the Nat Geo Further Base Camp, too; it’s also open to the public. Watch the full interview below.

And on Tuesday, March 14, at 11 am, Swisher will interview Crooked Media Founders Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett and Tommy Vietor onstage at the Austin Convention Center, Ballroom D. You will need a SXSW pass for that one.

Want more Recode that week? We can oblige: On Friday, March 10, at 4 pm, Recode Senior Editor Peter Kafka will interview Glenn Beck for Kafka’s Recode Media podcast. They’ll be talking about the state of media, the state of conservative media and the state of the digital video subscription model he pioneered. And, of course, Donald Trump.

You can watch the full video of Kafka’s interview with Beck below.
