How many people stream Netflix?

Ninety-four million, thanks in large part to international viewers.

Netflix missed its own estimates for subscriber additions this quarter, initially hurting its stock in after-hours trading. Missed estimates aside, Netflix has still amassed a huge audience, with 94 million paid streaming subscribers at the end of Q1 2017.

And at nearly 45 million, international streaming subscribers are catching up to Netflix’s 49 million domestic subscribers. Those totals include 1.42 million net streaming additions in the U.S this quarter and 3.53 million internationally, where Netflix subscriptions are growing more quickly.

Of course, those estimates were lower than expected, which could be bad news for the stock price. Here’s a look at Netflix and Wall Street guidance on how many new subscriptions they expected. Next quarter, Netflix estimates are much lower at 3.2 million additions—however that’s higher than the Street expected.
