As executive editor of the New York Times, Dean Baquet oversees the news in all its various forms, from print to digital to mobile. Before being named executive editor in May 2014 — the first black man in the role at the storied 164-year-old newspaper — Baquet served as managing editor, Washington bureau chief, national editor and deputy metro editor. He also spent several years as editor of the Los Angeles Times. Baquet was awarded a Pulitzer Prize for investigative reporting in March 1988 for leading a three-person Chicago Tribune team in documenting corruption in the Chicago City Council.
