What happens when Bill Gates, Sheryl Sandberg and Mark Cuban grill Walt Mossberg?

Tech celebs say bon voyage to Walt on the latest Too Embarrassed to Ask.

Mike Kepka for Recode

We told our friend and colleague Walt Mossberg that we wanted to do a big send-off podcast with him before he retires next month. What we didn’t tell him is that we also invited some of the biggest names in tech to “call in” to the podcast, too.

On the latest episode of Too Embarrassed to Ask, Mossberg answered questions about his life and career from Kara Swisher, Lauren Goode and our readers and listeners ... and also a parade of people like Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg.

They asked questions about Mossberg’s favorite stories, what he’ll be doing next and — of course — his favorite baseball team, the Boston Red Sox.

“My question for Walt is one that’s been bugging me for a while,” Apple’s Phil Schiller said. “Walt, do you think in 2004, the Red Sox would have still won the World Series had they not traded Nomar [Garciaparra]?”

Of course, many questions were also about tech — like YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki’s question: What would Mossberg change about YouTube if he could?

“Susan, DM me!” Mossberg quipped. “I have a long list.”

You can listen to the new podcast on Apple Podcasts, Google Play Music, Spotify (mobile only), TuneIn, Stitcher and SoundCloud.

Thank you to all of the executives and investors who sent us voicemails for this episode, and to everyone who kept the secret from Walt for weeks!
