Venmo Chief Operating Officer Mike Vaughan talked with Recode’s Dan Frommer on Wednesday at Code Commerce.

Vaughan was one of the payment service’s first employees. He is now one of Venmo’s top execs, helping to oversee the rapid growth of the money-transfer service that surpassed $8 billion in payment volume last quarter alone. Vaughan discusses how he plans to turn PayPal-owned Venmo into a real business.
