Thousands of people are expected to attend the March for Our Lives protest in Washington, DC, on Saturday to advocate for gun control reform in the wake of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Smaller sister marches will also be taking place across the country.
How to watch the March for Our Lives event online
In DC, the march begins at noon Eastern time and will last until 3 p.m. Because of the crowds expected — organizers have a permit for 500,000 people — the term “march” is something of a misnomer; the event is going to be held in one place, on on Pennsylvania Avenue from 3rd Street Northwest to 12th Street Northwest. (The Washington Post has a map of the route and street closures.) Programming includes performances from Demi Lovato, Ariana Grande, and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

The march, which was largely organized by survivors of the Parkland shooting, comes in a wave of teenage activism against gun violence. Last week, students organized a nationwide school walkout. Another walkout is planned for April 20.
