In front of Mark Zuckerberg with the striped tie is Brian Rice, Facebook’s director of public policy. Rice joined Facebook from Verizon more than four years ago to serve as the company’s top Democratic lobbyist.
The man in the light blue tie behind Mark Zuckerberg’s left shoulder is Joel Kaplan, Facebook’s VP of public policy. Kaplan has been with Facebook since 2011; he joined after working for former President George W. Bush as deputy chief of staff. He’s been heavily involved in Facebook’s efforts to understand what happened on the service during the 2016 election.
The woman to Mark Zuckerberg’s left is his executive assistant, Andrea Besmehn. She’s Zuckerberg’s frequent travel companion and most likely the mastermind behind the infamous “meat cake” birthday photo.
