Last fall, Recode tried something new: We brought together the most influential entrepreneurs and executives working at the intersection of retail and technology for our first two-day Code Commerce event.

The result: A ton of great conversation about the state of retail and e-commerce, but so many people wanted to join us that we had to turn dozens away.

So this September 17 and 18, we’re back for Year 2 of Code Commerce in New York City — and this time we’re making it bigger and, we think, even better.

We’re thrilled to announce our first speaker for the event: Shopify founder and CEO Tobi Lutke.

Lutke leads what might be the most under-the-radar $17 billion company in the retail and e-commerce space, one that is powering the next generation of breakout consumer brands.

Shopify’s software helps brands large and small sell everywhere, from on their own sites to Instagram to Amazon. From that vantage point, Lutke has a view into all the emerging commerce trends before they are obvious — and he will share what’s percolating now and what’s coming next.

We’ll announce many more speakers over the next few weeks, but even with the seats we’re adding, we expect this year’s Code Commerce event to sell out, just like last year’s. You should register today and take advantage of our first-mover pricing.
