Venture-backed, direct-to-consumer startups can live and die by their customer acquisition costs. And with new digital advertising platforms constantly evolving, what worked last month often won’t in the next.

So we’re excited that the founders of two popular, digital-first consumer brands — custom frame maker Framebridge and luggage designer and seller Away — will appear onstage at our Code Commerce event on September 17 and 18 in New York City to dive deep into the evolution of their marketing strategies.

We’ll ask Framebridge’s Susan Tynan and Away’s Jen Rubio what works and doesn’t on platforms like Instagram, where there’s still opportunity in podcast advertising, and which advertising channels are pleasant surprises and big disappointments.

The two entrepreneurs will join an already impressive slate of industry leaders — including the CEOs of companies like Macy’s, Shopify, Chobani, Instacart and India’s Flipkart — in Recode’s signature unscripted interviews.

Attendees will also get to choose from on-location experiences inside the storefronts and offices of brands like Macy’s, Casper and PayPal.
