Get to know the good gut stuff

How probiotics help everything from your immune system to your skin.

There’s a Chinese proverb that goes something along the lines of, “Those who take medicine and ignore their diet waste their doctor’s time.” Your diet is an important aspect to your overall health and wellness, and it definitely deserves some attention.

Probiotics are good bacteria that when consumed in the right amount may have a health benefit. While there’s already a lot of that good stuff living in your body at any given time, some foods contain probiotics which can add to the good bacteria in your gut. You can find probiotics in some fermented foods like yogurt, kefir, kimchi, sauerkraut, and kombucha — but not all bacteria found in fermented foods are probiotics, so be sure to check the label. Check out the video above to learn more about probiotics.
