The Explainer Studio makes an Explainer about how we make our Explainers

We’re always juggling multiple creative projects at once, but Asana helps keep us on track.

Here at Vox Creative’s Explainer Studio, we work with brands to take big ideas and break them down in interesting ways — through videos, articles, podcasts, and more — to help those brands better connect with their audiences. We’re always juggling multiple projects and coordinating deadlines among many, many team members. And let’s just say: things can get complicated fast.

That’s where Asana comes in. Asana is a work management platform that helps us plan, manage, and get stuff done, all while cutting out extra busy work. According to their Anatomy of Work Index, up to 60 percent of work isn’t actually work. Instead, our days are often filled with tasks like responding to emails or DMs, chasing down team members to make sure they’ve completed assignments, and having unnecessary meeting after meeting after meeting.

Just ask Josh Zerkel, the head of global community at Asana and a Certified Professional Organizer. (Yes, that’s a real job!) “It doesn’t take a Certified Professional Organizer to know that our days are often packed with endless emails and meetings about meetings,” Zerkel says. “That makes it really hard to do our actual work that we’re proud of. Clearing away that busy work is key.”

Asana sets us free to focus on creativity, without all the distractions, no matter how or where we’re working. No work day ever goes perfectly, but when you have tools to remove the nonsense, the work gets better — and the working gets better, too.
