Alexia grew up between the US and the Middle East. Prior to coming to Vox she worked for Al Jazeera’s digital channel in San Francisco and Doha. She’s also covered local politics in the San Francisco Bay area, healthcare in California’s Central Valley, and the military coup and political transition in Egypt in 2013-2014. Alexia holds a BA in Literature from UC Santa Barbara and two MA degrees in Journalism and Middle East studies from UC Berkeley.
