Before settling down with Vox, she spent nearly a decade working as a freelance researcher and fact-checker. Her clients have included Vanity Fair, the New York Times, and the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists. She lives in North Carolina with her wife and dogs, and she spends her weekends whittling.
