Are you thinking about drinking a little less in 2026 — or even challenging yourself to cut out alcohol for an entire month? You wouldn’t be alone.

Thanks to the popularity of Dry January, many people are reconsidering their drinking habits all year long. What began as one British woman’s personal experiment to curb her drinking at the beginning of 2011 has exploded into a burgeoning international movement, where millions of participants pledge to remain sober for the entire month of January. In 2024, a whopping 21 percent of American adults participated. Beyond Dry January, more people are embracing sober-curious lifestyles and interrogating their drinking habits, paving the way for low or alcohol-free living to become a widely accepted form of wellness.

Whether you just want to complete a successful month without drinking or you’re hoping to reevaluate your relationship to alcohol altogether, we’re here to help. Welcome to Even Better’s Guide to Drinking Less. In this five-part newsletter course, I’ll bring you expert-approved tips and tricks to guide you through 30 days without alcohol, and enjoy it, too. We’ll learn about the social and ritualistic aspects of drinking and what to do when you just want a glass of wine to wind down after a long day.

Sign up now and look out for our emails over the month with challenges that are both actionable and reflective. Each week will focus on a different aspect of drinking to unpack your motivations and create new habits. You’ve got this — and we’ll be right there with you.

We want to hear from you, too! Why are you thinking about embarking on this challenge? What obstacles or hiccups do you anticipate? What questions do you have? E-mail me at allie.volpe@vox.com with your thoughts. And send this newsletter to a friend and encourage them to come along for the ride, too.

Thanks for joining me!
