We’re excited to announce the second Vox Conversations unconference on April 26 and 27 in Washington, DC.

As we approach President Trump’s 100th day in office, we want to convene leading minds across both sides of the aisle to take stock of what’s changed, what hasn’t, and where policy is likely to go at both the federal and state levels.

Like our first gathering, this will be an unconference: The conversations will emerge organically from participants, and discussions will be chosen in real time. But given the path of policy so far, a few topics we expect to cover are:

  • Which groups will benefit and who will pay more under proposed Affordable Care Act replacement plans?
  • How will Trump’s promised deportations, border wall, and general stance toward immigration change who wants to come here and how American companies operate?
  • Will Trump be able to turn his promises of “big border taxes” into reality, and how will congressional Republicans respond?
  • How are the states responding to the Trump administration, and is Washington headed towards a new federalism in its policymaking?

We’ve assembled a group of smart folks from around the country, from diverse sectors and ideological backgrounds, but we’re looking for more. If you have an important viewpoint to contribute, we want to hear from you:

We’re looking for the insurance broker with an inside perspective on how ACA uncertainty is affecting business decisions, the professor who researches how bureaucracies react to different types of leaders, the social worker who sees the psychological toll that the threat of deportation takes on immigrant communities every day, the economist who has mapped how tax policies impact global trade.

Most importantly, we’re looking for curious people who want to have substantive conversations about the future of our public policy in an intimate group setting. Join us and be a part of the Vox Conversations community.
