Last year, we initiated the Vox Membership program with a set of extra perks and benefits for members, like access to our journalists through Q&As, members-only newsletters, member-exclusive stories, and more.
Expanding our membership program
We’re taking another step to strengthen our membership program.

Starting today, we’re taking another step to strengthen the program and encourage more of our most loyal readers to join us. Our audience will now begin to see a paywall after they’ve read a number of stories each month. We’re hoping that this will encourage you to invest in our journalism and join our member community. Quality, independent journalism is hard to produce — and requires resources. By supporting Vox, you’ll enable us to continue to create great work, plus you’ll get access to a number of other perks as a Vox Member along the way.
I want to be clear: Our values and our mission aren’t changing. We’re still committed to making critical information accessible to all, and so that’s what we’re going to do. Stories that we think need to be available to everyone as a public service will remain outside the paywall so that anyone can read them, regardless of how much Vox they’ve already read or their ability to pay for a membership.
As we head into a second Trump administration, our newsroom is ready for the challenge ahead of us. Our democracy needs vibrant journalism, and that’s not a challenge we are shrinking from. I believe Vox has a valuable role to play in explaining what’s happening in the world — we won’t chase every story; we won’t hyperventilate with every development. Instead, Vox will do what we do best: cut through the noise and help you understand what actually matters, how to think about it, and what to do about it. If you rely on Vox’s journalism and believe in our mission, then please consider becoming a member today.
