Google introduced a new way to see more from your favorite publishers last week. And if you’re looking to make sense of what actually matters in the news, it’s as easy as clicking right here and selecting the box for Vox.

The new product, called Preferred Sources, lets you choose news publishers whose stories you want to see more of. The publishers you pick as preferred sources — such as, to pick an example, Vox — will be more likely to show up in the “Top Stories” section of your search results as well as in a separate “From Your Sources” section of the page.
This way, when you search for information about the latest tariff news or the importance of a Supreme Court decision, it’s more likely that Google will serve you a Vox explainer that will help you make sense of it.
At a time when AI is playing an increasingly big role in determining what information comes up when you search, choosing Vox as a preferred source is a small step toward ensuring that a quality story from a source you trust is more likely to appear highly in your results.
