Marvel’s fix for its sexist Spider-Woman cover? Putting a logo over her butt.

Back in August, Marvel unveiled a controversial cover for its new Spider-Woman solo comic book. The book was supposed to allow Marvel to explore the character's strength and delve into her adventures, but those things were overshadowed by a variant cover, drawn by erotic artist Milo Manara, which depicted her "presenting" more like a porn star than a superhero. The backlash was massive, and Marvel ended up canceling upcoming Manara covers it commissioned. However, it didn't cancel the Spider-Woman cover.

On Wednesday, that Manara cover will finally be published, with one change:

It seems unlikely covering up the offending portion of the art with a logo (seemingly designed to replicate its curves) will settle this matter, but who knows?
