LeBron James showed solidarity with people protesting the Staten Island Grand Jury decision not to indict the police office who killed Eric Garner with a chokehold on July 17th last night, donning a black t-shirt with Garner’s last words.

“It was a message to the family, that I’m sorry for their loss,” James said after the game. Protesters staged a large demonstration outside of the game, which also was attended by Prince William and Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton. LeBron’s teammate Kyrie Irving, and a number of Nets players also wore I Can’t Breathe shirts.

This isn’t the first time LeBron has raised his voice about such issues. After the death of Trayvon Martin, LeBron led his team in a show of solidarity with protesters then too.
