A new campaign teaches you how to eat marijuana without turning out like Maureen Dowd
The Marijuana Policy Project (MPP) will launch the new campaign this week to teach people how to responsibly consume marijuana, including pot-infused edibles, in states where the drug is legal. The campaign’s first billboard, which will appear in Denver, references Maureen Dowd’s infamous New York Times op-ed, in which she reported eating far too much marijuana and becoming “convinced that [she] had died and no one was telling [her].”
The campaign does give some pretty important lessons about consuming marijuana. Most importantly, novice edible consumers should start very slowly to avoid eating too much.
“Like most Americans, Ms. Dowd has probably seen countless silly anti-marijuana ads on TV, but she never saw one that highlights the need to ‘start low and go slow’ when consuming marijuana edibles,” said Mason Tvert, spokesperson for MPP, in a statement.
