Apple Strikes Deal for a Futuristic Office Space in Sunnyvale

The brochure for the office park touts amenities such as rooftop walking and jogging paths and garden spaces, a fitness center and sports fields, and spacious under-building parking.

Apple is getting some futuristic new office space outside of its Cupertino headquarters.

The technology giant has reportedly signed a deal with Landbank Investments for space in its planned Central & Wolfe campus — a sprawling 777,000-square-foot project that emphasizes distinctive industrial design and sustainability.

The brochure for the office park, headlined Not Another Box, touts amenities such as rooftop walking and jogging paths and garden spaces, a fitness center and sports fields, and spacious under-building parking.

Apple declined to comment on the real estate transaction, which was first reported by the Silicon Valley Business Journal. The agreement, which is believed to be a lease arrangement, would provide Apple with room for more than 3,000 employees.

Landbank did not respond to a request seeking comment.

Apple has been bursting at the seams at its Cupertino facility, as the world’s largest publicly traded company expands its focus to new product areas. The company has reportedly tripled the number of people working on its electric car project.

Meanwhile, Apple is building a new spaceship campus in Cupertino to accommodate its workforce.
