Hazmat Team Dispatched to Apple Office Building, Nitrogen Leak Quickly Contained

Apple doesn’t like leaks.

A hazardous materials team was dispatched to one of Apple’s office buildings in Cupertino, Calif., early Friday morning to address a minor nitrogen leak.

Santa Clara Fire Department sent the hazmat team at 7 am PT Friday to a single-story office building off Bandley Drive to investigate reports of a nitrogen leak from a 54-cubic-foot tank.

Fire department spokesman Bill Murphy said a piece of manufacturing equipment that uses nitrogen had developed a leak, setting off an alarm. Crews quickly capped the leak and workers returned to the building.
