Here’s the first trailer for Justice League. It’s time to put the team together.

The studio not only released an excitement-inducing trailer for its Wonder Woman film but also let fans have the first look at Justice League — the Avengers-like superhero epic featuring Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), and the Flash (Ezra Miller).
It’s clear that Warner Bros. understands why people are excited for this film. The entire trailer is about Batman recruiting reluctant-as-hell superheroes to his squad. There’s a glimpse of the Flash’s powers, Cyborg’s full costume, and Aquaman looking damn majestic as waves crash down on him.
Compared with the initial Batman v Superman trailers, there seems to be a lot more humor involved in Justice League. Affleck's Batman is a bit of a square, allowing Momoa's swarthy and imposing Aquaman and Miller's scrawny pile of wit to bounce off Affleck's self-seriousness. Even Gadot's Wonder Woman gets in a slight jab there, mocking Batman's job as recruitment chair.
There’s attention paid, and hopefully it’s reflected in the movie, to the team dynamic and to each character’s personality — something that Batman v Superman dropped the ball on. It’s clear Warner Bros. wants you to care about these characters — so much so that we don’t even know what kind of villain team is up against (well, fans who have been on top of the news do), because the entire trailer is about the team dynamic here.
That’s a good thing.
Justice League is scheduled for a 2017 release.
